AG is a 31-year-old female who presents to the psychiatry clinic for follow up of her depression. Four weeks ago, AG was feeling sad, uninterested, and listless. She was not sleeping well, had a poor appetite, and couldn’t focus on her work. Her provider decided to start her on vortioxetine 20 mg daily to help with her symptoms of depression. After 2 weeks, AG stopped the vortioxetine due to nausea, vomiting, and headache. Currently, she is still having the same symptoms of depression as she was 4 weeks ago. Her provider decides to order pharmacogenomic testing to guide their next steps in choosing an antidepressant for AG.
