How Does UGenome protect our clients' DNA data?

Hosting and Storage
Our application is hosted on AWS. Uploaded and generated files are stored in Amazon S3.

Encryption
All data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 (Amazon S3 server side encryption). We are also in the process of migrating to SSE-KMS with a customer managed key, which will add an additional layer of access control and audit logging on top of our existing encryption.

Compliance
We operate in a HIPAA-eligible AWS environment under a signed Business Associate Agreement, and follow AWS's required safeguards for encryption, access control, and logging on any system that touches user data.

Access Control
Access to stored data is limited to a small team responsible for software development, data handling, and product architecture. This access will be further restricted when we migrate to SSE-KMS. All team members complete data handling and privacy training. 

Data Control and Deletion
You have full control over your data. You may delete your files or your account at any time, and we will permanently remove them from our systems without retaining copies.

Privacy Commitment
We do not sell or share your data with any individual, company, or research institution.
